Black Sox Cale Hamilton gave the Shockers a run for thier money!
In today's CABO Fall Ball Championship game, the Black Sox exploded to a 11-5 win over the #1 ranked Shockers. Cale Hamilton kept the Shockers off balance with 7 innings of work, striking out 14 while allowing 3 hits and 2 walks. Cale also scored the go ahead run in the 5th that gave the Sox the lead for the rest of the game. Cole VanBuryn gave Cale and the Sox cushion in the 6th with a 3 run Home Run off Shocker's starting pitcher Colin Ward-Henninger. Cole's blast was his first of the season. David Talley unleashed one of his monsterous bombs to deep right center in the 8th off Henninger to lead of the 8th. This gave the Soxs a 6-1 lead on what was Talley's 2nd homerun of the season. Kyle Love added a 2 run single in the 8th to give the Black Sox a 7 run lead. Jeff Wienir came on in the 8th to take over for Cale, as the Black Sox did not want to overuse thier starter with such a score. Jeff worked out of a jam in the 8th to keep the score at 8-1. The Black Sox scored 3 more runs in the top half of the 9th off Shocker reliever Matt Baker to pad thier lead by 10. With the score 11-1 in the bottom of the 9th, the Shockers showed some life and scored 4 runs with 1 out. That didn't last long as the Black Sox were able to get a ground out, and Wienir was able to strike out the last batter to seal the deal for the Black Sox.

Congratulations to the Black Sox for being crowned the First CABO Fall Ball CHAMPIONS!
